Frequently asked questions...
Can a hat or headpiece be made in different colours other than what is shown on the website?
Most of the designs can be in different colours if requested. It also depends on the availability of supplies. However if you give enough notice supplies can be ordered with enough time to find out whether it is available or when it will come in. Can the trimmings on a hat or headpiece be changed (Flowers, feathers, longer Veiling etc)? Yes, the trimmings can be changed to suit your outfit and requirements. When making appointment or order please indicate what changes you want. Do you need to know my head measurement when ordering a hat? No, we do not require your head measurement. All hats and headpieces are ‘one size fits all’. How do the hats and headpieces stay on my head? Hats are secured to your head by thin elastic that tucks under your hair, a hair comb will also hold the hat firmly in place. I don't think hats or headpieces suit me? There is a style out there for everyone! You need to find the one that suits your face shape and body shape. It is best to start by trying on different styles and getting an idea for what you like and makes you feel beautiful (which is the most important thing!). Here are a few types of styles that suit different face shapes: - Square / Oval: Will suit any hat, fascinator or headpiece - Heart-shaped: Most hats will suit you, although a medium-sized brim (rather than a wide brim) will help to prevent the jaw line from looking too narrow. Fascinators and headpieces are easily worn. - Narrow: A hat that has a wide brim will offset the length of a long face. Tall brims should be avoided. Fascinators will suit you too. - Round: Balance a round face with a hat that has a good, high crown and a decent brim. A short crown and small brim will make your face look more round. Experiment with headpieces and fascinators. What details set spring hats apart from hats for other seasons? Fabrics and materials. Various lightweight straws, silks and lightweight materials. Light printed fabrics in pastels… We glow under hats in springtime colors and fabrics. How popular are hats/headpieces as fashion accessories? Very! Ask all the women and men who are continually complimented wherever they go in the hats. Ask any women who has attended an event such as the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival |
